Five MInute Friday - HERE

Wow... just SO MUCH FUN at the #FMFParty... It was SO fun that I am almost out of Words (and Hashtags!) ALMOST... not to worry!

First - the fine print if you don't know what FMF is!  Five Minute Fridays are hosted by Lisa Jo Baker.  It is open to anyone, so to learn more about it - and to jump in yourself (the more the merrier!) or just to find a linky to see what everyone is writing about today - click HERE!  The idea is to simply write... for Five Minutes flat... no editing, no deep thinking - or at least REthinking, no spell check - just write! Let it flow! We all write using a prompt that Lisa posts at one minute past midnight Friday morning (EST.)  I'm loving the community of amazing bloggers and the creativity that flows from these magical Five Minutes!

So - here goes: Five Minute Friday - HERE...

I love my home.  Honestly - as much as I love to go
and get out and see the world at large
- normally there is nothing sweeter
than the coming Home...
the returning to Here...

We had a glorious Spring Break last week...
lots of travel and fun and great memories made
(and a TON of photo's!)...

We came home to unpack suitcases
only to have a house FILLED to the rim with family.

Blessings and Babies
...and Laughter and Love all around!

So. Much. Love.

Normally with the return of School comes the return of Routine
- which usually blesses this Mama's heart!  I am a Day Planner girl
- and I love a bossy list that tells me what must get done.

This week, however, I have had a hard time settling back in;
not quite finding my groove.

I don't know if it is because the realization hit that
this was my 'last' Spring Break...
our girlie is turning 18 in a month,
and graduating in two...
and this was our last big hurrah!

As we prepare for her still undecided future,
we are learning to let go - so as not to tear apart.

She has been my Here... my focus... my life's calling...
for 18 years now (how is that even possible?)

- and we have grown her up to be one of our best friends.
(She is pretty freaking amazing!)

But - no matter where Home is
...for me, or for her, for us...
Home is HERE where my heart remains:
...this glorious heart-to-heart connection
that lives on beyond different addresses, zip codes,
and even - gasp - time zones.

Here - with my girlie, my friend...
My heart beating outside of my chest...

So - I didn't really see that one coming... but I made it through just in time for my 'Here' (my girlie) to get home from work and want to snuggle a bit... AND I (almost!) posted an entire Five Minute Friday post without mentioning #Nutella.  Almost!

Speak Life, Be Love, Shine On!

  1. Bitter sweet. I'm so glad you had a wonderful last spring break as a family! God bless lady :)

  2. I agree that here is the heart-to-heart connection. We should never lose sight of that. Thanks for sharing. -Beth

  3. So sweet- I still snuggle with my mom and I'm almost 24! Sounds like you have a great relationship. Love it.

  4. So sweet. Your girl seemed pretty amazing and so sweet. I can totally picture your mama heart both bursting and proud and hurting just a bit too. So glad you made time for us on your Spring Break, I was truly blessed to meet you and your beautiful family and to share a meal and laughs and some good stories. If we'd had Nutella, we'd have been golden. ;)

  5. Be still my heart! This is beautiful. I gone through 2 last spring breaks (including a marriage of one child), and want to stop time before my last two get older. I love that my 19yo son will snuggle still with this old mama!

  6. There are just so many reasons I love you and your heart, friend. I have so enjoyed seeing pictures of your trip and always adore seeing and hearing more about your girl. Blessings and much love.

  7. Such a great post.

  8. Sometimes "here" is really a person. Your relationship with your girlie is something special:)

  9. Thank you for sharing a part of your mama's heart! Be blessed:)

  10. Oh my heart...you're going to have to hold me when my time comes to let go, friend. we could sit there with our nutella jars and a spoon;)

    Your daughter will go far and wide, I'm certain, but will always take your heart along on the journey. for you are woven right into the threads of her soul {HUGS}

  11. Loved meeting you online at the #FMFParty last night (this is me: 3BeesBlueBonnet!) - what a hoot. This post is so sweet. I get a little teary reading this - I'm halfway there with my sweet girl who has just turned nine. So many amazing things to look forward to and I love how you hold them all close to your heart. Your "here" is so very precious. And yeah, Nutella is just kind of awesome.

  12. This is just beautiful, friend...and the kind of relationship I pray my daughter and I will have. Thank you...and many blessings on your day! :)

  13. My girl is 18 months vs. your 18 years, but they claim our hearts as home, don't they? So grateful for that :)

  14. So sweet and tender ... and heart-wrenching! I'm facing big changes too (of a different sort -- retirement) so I can feel a little of what you are feeling. And I remember very well the years my boys left home. Prayers and blessings to your family!

  15. Your girl is simply beautiful! I'm glad you had time to spend together on Spring Break!
