LAST - Five Minute Friday

So - for the second week in a row - I missed out on the #fmfparty.  Last week I was traveling to see my sister, and this week I was on an evening walk with a friend... one that ended in us talking in the dark about the Hard things... the Real things... the Things that must be discussed in the dark in order to shed Light and Breakthrough... so, while I missed being online with all my friends... I was in person with the one who needed me in real life!  Still... you know that I can't stay away!

But - first - the fine print: if you don't know what FMF is!  Five Minute Fridays are hosted by Lisa Jo Baker.  It is open to anyone, so to learn more about it - and to jump in yourself (the more the merrier!) or just to find a linky to see what everyone is writing about today - click HERE!  The idea is to simply write... for Five Minutes flat... no editing, no deep thinking - or at least REthinking, no spell check - just write! Let it flow! We all write using a prompt that Lisa posts at one minute past midnight Friday morning (EST.)  I'm loving the community of amazing bloggers and the creativity that flows from these magical Five Minutes!

So - here goes: Five Minute Friday - LAST...

{GO}

Last year was our Year of Lasts, as our Only was a senior in High School... there was an entire year of (possible) Lasts... it was both glorious and sad... and this is so how life tends to unfold, is it not? How when we come to the end - to the 'last' - of something, there is celebration for completing and reaching and achieving and there is a bit of sadness that it's all over and now there is a world of New and Unknowns looming ahead.

How do we capture and slow down time when Change is just coming straight on for us? How do we take this moment, here today, and make it LAST, and not give in to the fear of Tomorrow?

We have learned from Ann that to count gifts, to one thousand and beyond - it slows down time and helps us to remain present!  We have learned that in the counting... in the listing down the blessings for which we are grateful - we see differently - and even in the darkness... we see the Light...

When we remain thankful for all His has done, it's as if the fading Light of Sunset no longer promises Darkness alone - but it makes way for a Brand New Day!

For we are eternally living - right here and right now... and there is no real and true Last when we are in His Kingdom!  There is no competition or race to win on our own!  The ladder of success in the Kingdom, I once heard Ted Haggard share, is upside down and we fight for the bottom to push others up!  I loved that visual! If you're gonna bless me, I'm gonna bless you more! It is my goal to push you up and help you reach the top...

No - there is no Last...

there is only Us...

and we are in this together... side by side, heart to heart... and when darkness comes and discouragement tries to cozy on up with us - we need each other to refocus our sights on the Brand New Day ahead... on the Hope and the Dreams Come True that are set for Tomorrow... don't believe the lie that you are last... that all is lost... In Him you are not... and nothing ever is!

{STOP}

He works all things together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose! (Romans 8:28)

Praying for you and your Brand New Day!

    We can always count on our Pappa who gives all of Himself to each of His children as if that child was His one and only!
