Listen - Five Minute Friday

It felt amazing to be back last night at #FMFParty... even if I was multi-tasking up a storm - trying to finish several projects that were all so close to being done!  I actually wrote yesterday about Listening... so it is still fresh in my mind and on my heart...

So - first - The fine print: if you don't know what FMF is!  Five Minute Fridays are hosted by Lisa Jo Baker.  It is open to anyone, so to learn more about it - and to jump in yourself (the more the merrier!) or just to find a linky to see what everyone is writing about today - click HERE!  The idea is to simply write... for Five Minutes flat... no editing, no deep thinking - or at least REthinking, no spell check - just write! Let it flow! We all write using a prompt that Lisa posts at one minute past midnight Friday morning (EST.)  I'm loving the community of amazing bloggers and the creativity that flows from these magical Five Minutes!

So - here goes: Five Minute Friday - LISTEN...

Listen...

Can you hear Summer calling? Can you listen for the way He pursues you?

Can you hear it in the birds' early chorus, gently blowing in through the open window on a morning breeze?  Can you hear it in the neighborhood brimming with barefeet running, children laughing, squeals of joy, even in the sibling rivalries...

Can you hear it in the invitation for tea, and in the ice settling in against the glass, as you settle in with a good friend...in how she whispers truth and brokenheartedness and hope all in the power of her hesitation... Can you hear His heart beating strong, as the silence screams loud with anger and woundedness and justice - or lack thereof? Can you hear how He beats for her... for you?  How He has called you to connect and be real and live loud...

Can you hear Him  - once again - say your name?

Lean in... can you hear it? Listen for Him... you will never hear anyone say your name, dripping with So. Much. Love.  The way His singsong voice is like a melody to your dry and thirsty days...

Can you hear the gift of Summer in the way He woos you? The call to slow down, sleep in, relax...
The call to connect... to be present... to Just Breathe.
