Five Minute Friday - Rhythm

After a lot of hitting and missing with the #FMFParty crowd for the past month or so, tonight was so much needed! I am crazy in love with this amazing gathering of awesome sauce of writers... the community that is gathered and that grows... well - even for the writers - there really just are no words!

So - first - The fine print: if you don't know what FMF is!  Five Minute Fridays are hosted by Lisa Jo Baker.  It is open to anyone, so to learn more about it - and to jump in yourself (the more the merrier!) or just to find a linky to see what everyone is writing about today - click HERE!  The idea is to simply write... for Five Minutes flat... no editing, no deep thinking - or at least REthinking, no spell check - just write! Let it flow! We all write using a prompt that Lisa posts at one minute past midnight Friday morning (EST.)  I'm loving the community of amazing bloggers and the creativity that flows from these magical Five Minutes!

So - here goes: Five Minute Friday - Rhythm ...

{GO}

When we find ourselves in the midst of a changing season - with the end of one slowly fading away, and the beginning of 'next' trying to find a melody that invites us to join in in harmony, sometimes it is difficult to clearly fall into the Rhythm of New.

As most (ok - all... as ALL) of you know! - our Only just graduated high school and we have been reflecting back and wrapping up what life has been... and leaning in and seeing the possibilities of what life may be.

It is Sad and Happy and scary and Exciting.

It is I-Can't-Believe-It's-Over-Already and How-Do-I-Fill-My-Days-Now?

It's no more Lunch money and Tardy slips (at least that I have to worry about)
and it's all sorts of Expenses & Unknown Absences in the future.

But for now... this Summer... we are drinking it in and finding a Rhythm in the in between!

This reminds me of worship service in churches.  We have been blessed (largely because my Honey is amazing) to have experienced worship services where we rarely do one song, and then STOP completely, and switch gears, and then Start a new one.  I know this may be 'normal' - but - well... we like it different!  No - we much prefer to find a rhythm that flows from one song to the next... that sort of ties them in together and continues to tell a story, if you will.

Life is rarely cut and dry...

One season over... space... the next season starting.

It's not Heidi Klum and "Either you're In or you're Out...

No - it's not like that!
One season meanders and winds down
and spills right on over to the next
and there is so much grace in that!

This summer - the rhythm we are dancing to is slower... it's melodic... and yet - we can feel that there is a purpose in it and a drive... it is taking us somewhere new.  For months the Lord has been speaking to us about Being the Song... about listening to His lead and following in the Dance... finding the Rhythm HE has mapped out - just for us... and boldly learning the steps!

So while we know our time in this 'in between' is short, we are reveling in the rhythm of this Dance!
