A Random List of Last Fives... -A Five Minute Friday post.

***

Another post already? I know... but I accidentally saw the One Word Prompt even though I had no plans of writing again so soon.  Once I saw the word, however, I realized I had just been wanting to do a lighter post --something less heavy and more fun and this will work perfectly! So... let's go!

This is a Five Minute Friday post... which simply means I set a timer and free-write for five minutes flat on the one-word prompt: FIVE

{GO!}

I have been missing those What I Learned link-up posts and how lighthearted and fun they were! Coming out of a long hard season, I wanted to follow Emily P. Freeman's lead and write some lists, so let's see what Last Fives come to mind after hitting the timer...

Gah! I am out of practice with all the baby hair things!

2.

“Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.”
‭‭Phil‭4:8-9‬ ‭The Message

I have always loved this verse, but I haven’t always lived it. It’s easy to slip back into focusing on the ugly, the lies, the worst instead of the beautiful, the truth, the best! But when we are intentional in following His ways —in following His lead, He makes us into excellent harmonies! (And who doesn’t want that?)

I had the thought this morning how it would have been so easy for Jesus to focus on the bad... the sin and failings... the ugly and the curses —easier for Him who had not only tasted Heaven but created it and lived there... He knew what was missing on earth and how it was not the world He created for us! And yet— consistently He called out the Gold... called forth the good! He spoke Life and Love and Light... So as Friday is here and the weekend ahead of us, let’s purpose to follow His lead and look for all things ‘true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, and gracious...’

3.
Gotta love a #summer #bookclub gathering in the #park on a #Friday morning!
#friends #faith #joyinthewaiting #curiousfaith

4.
 "#ootd #outfitoftheday #fashion #comfyoutfit #grey #tanktop and #Capri #leggings with a #Navy #floral #swing #Aline #tanktop and #flipflops paired with jewelry from @mercyhouseglobal @fair_trade_friday #fairtradefashion #fairtrade #jewelry #fairtradejewelry"

5.
"A quick (or so we thought!) Day Trip to Walla Walla! It just so happened to be the same weekend my cousin and her girlie was in town, too! It was so nice to meet up in person and catch up face to face! ❤️☕️ (Thanks for the coffee, Cuz! It was super yummy!) While we were out, My Honey got to hang with Jack. Then we headed back to Yak’ and apparently just missed a huge high-speed chase that resulted in a shoot out and closed the highway down in all directions! After waiting an hour, we turned around and found an alternate route! 😳 Now we are happily back home, safe and sound!"

{STOP!}

So that went by quickly! Lists are so fun and it's been a long time since I've done something easy, breezy around here! We were long overdue!

Linking up with  Kate Motaung and the #fmfparty Community today.  Five Minute Fridays give us the chance to dive right in and share what He puts on our hearts! Click HERE to read what others have to say about "FIVE"!

The FMF lowdown: The gathering happens on Twitter on Thursday nights & then we write our hearts out & hit publish all over the interwebs on Thursday & Friday (& sometimes on Tuesdays!) It's where we encourage & uplift... where we share prayer requests & praise reports... where we talk about food & friends & we find support & kindred hearts. It's where we are reminded that life is good & God is good & we're not alone... & then we all write for five minutes flat, a flash mob of wordsmiths letting our hearts & our fingers do the talking tapping & we hit publish before we can second-guess it all away. We'd love to have you join us!

    1. Sadly --not soon enough! So sad that our paths won't get to cross (this time!) in person! Praying for you and so excited to hear all about it --even if it must be across the interwebs instead of over a cuppa! xoxo

  4. Yeah great idea. Doing the reflection type post. I need to do that myself. The thing here that jumped out for me is Comedians Driving Cars Drinking Coffee. I enjoy that show though I don't watch it regularly.

    1. I think we all appreciate and enjoy reading lighter fun posts from time to time! I hope you will do a reflections post soon, too! And yes --we are big fans of Jerry Seinfeld and even the comedians who we don't know or recognize --even ones we may not watch their routines or shows... there is something about getting funny people together and just sharing life... I don't know but I know we enjoy it! (There is a new season, fyi!)

    Thank you Karrilee! I smile everytime I see that I am a nearish neighbor at a link up. What is interesting is that Lauren Daigle's music made my list too. Even though "Still Rolling Stones" is one of the songs that is on repeat this week at my house. I love your reminder from Phillipians 4. I hope you have a wonderful day! - Jolene
