When Heaven & Nature Sing... An ode to Springtime (and a Five Minute Friday post.)

I missed out on the party this week and I've been meaning to write for days about the awesomeness that was our Easter Service, but I think I will write that post on Monday! I will just say --it was a pretty big deal, and it was pretty amazing!

But for today... well... you know the drill:

This is Five Minute Friday (- a five minute timed free write) and our One Word Prompt for the day is: SING

{GO}

Oh Springtime... how we have been WAITING for your glorious arrival!

I have not been quiet about how I tried to break up with Winter for months and he just wouldn't go away!

But finally... finally... there is this:

I am so ready for Spring... and warmth... and new growth... for walks in the park and patio time and drinks that are COLD and refreshing... I'm ready for bare feet and tan lines and --well, there I go again --jumping ahead to the next season before it is time!

And that's that thing...
As much as I am done with Winter and thrilled to have found Spring has sprung here... I think my season is still Winter.

I tend to rush into the next... but God has been working on with me on that!

I was talking the other day with a friend... a prayer partner and sister and she shared that she was talking with the Lord about seasons and He told her it was vital for her (for us all, really!) to know the season we are in.

As much as I long for Spring... I feel the importance of staying and letting the way of Winter have its' way with me.

I've found in the cold and the quiet, in the stillness and the silence, a stirring deep within... a re-centering and re-awakening... dormant seeds buried deep down shifting and sprouting and I feel the push of new life just starting to surface.

I'm remembering and relearning who I am and how I am wired. Some old dreams and some prophetic words
are just starting to make sense and to come to life.

But if I rush it... and I proclaim Spring before it's time...
we all know what happens!

That late frost can kill and stunt our growth,
but oh how when it's time... well...

When it's time,

All of Heaven & Nature Sings,
and Creation points to
the Creator of all!

Lean in and listen closely...

You can hear the faint sound of singing amongst the leaves and the precious flowers as they open up in praise!

So as much as I am LOVING Springtime... I am willing to embrace my Winter Season a bit longer.

I don't want to rush whatever God is doing beneath the surface.  I'm willing to wait... to trust... to let the roots go deep and let the things that need to die die... and the things that need to be let go of be released.

I'm willing to trust my Master Gardener... for I know that when He calls my name, just like Mary at the empty tomb, I will run to Him and New Life will spring up and spill out everywhere I go!

{STOP}

What about you? What Season are you in right now?

While it may be Spring (Oh, how I hope it is!) where you live, it's possible that you too are experiencing a different season in the Spirit!

Ask Him... He's so willing to show us and to weed and tend and plow and till the garden of our soul right alongside of us...

He wants us to bloom and to be fruitful in every season! He came so that we may have Life... and Life Abundantly!

Linking up with Kate Motaung and the #fmfparty Community today.  Five Minute Fridays gives us the chance to dive right in and share what He puts on our hearts! Click HERE to read what others have to say about: "SING"
The FMF lowdown: The gathering happens on Twitter on Thursday nights & then we write our hearts out & hit publish all over the interwebs on Thursday & Friday (& sometimes on Tuesdays!) It's where we encourage & uplift... where we share prayer requests & praise reports... where we talk food & friends & we find support & kindred hearts. It's where we are reminded that life is good & God is good & we're not alone... & then we all write for five minutes flat, a flash mob of wordsmiths letting our hearts & our fingers do the talking tapping & we hit publish before we can second guess it all away. We'd love to have you join us!

Beautiful pictures Karrilee! My favorite season is spring. New life, green grass, waking to the birds chirping in the morning. I'm sitting behind you at Kate's this week.

  3. I love the pictures! The different colours of the blossom are amazing. Spring is my favourite season and I'm always happy to leave the winter behind but I agree, all the seasons are necessary and we have to wait on God and trust him instead of rushing ahead.

    1. Yes and Amen! As much as I am ready on the outside for Spring and embracing it full on (and with doors open! Hallelujah!) --I am also aware that inside... my Soul is still in a Winter season... but Spring is coming! I can feel it!

    1. Thanks so much! It's so easy to want to rush on to whatever is next, but often times we miss a blessing and we press on too soon to let the work have it's way in us! Thanks for stopping by, friend!

  5. Oh my, yes this: "I've found in the cold and the quiet, in the stillness and the silence, a stirring deep within... a re-centering and re-awakening... dormant seeds buried deep down shifting and sprouting and I feel the push of new life just starting to surface." This is where I find myself also. I am so thankful that our Lord truly is our MASTER Gardener! Thank you for sharing these beautiful words and photos!

  7. I love this post. I too, have been trying to break up with winter and am absolutely infatuated with the flowers and leaves that have just started opening up in the last week. Alleluia! But, your thoughts on our spiritual season hit home as well, so much truth here today. Thank you for sharing. I'm visiting from FMF but I think I'll check out some of those other communities as well. Blessings.

  8. At 66 years of age I think I'm still in Fall - and fall is where I don't mind being. It's about change and transition - really like where Holy Spirit took your words today. You are so right - don't put the winter clothes away until HE tells you you're done. xoxo Wisdom 101 from one Mimi to another.
