Crave - A Five Minute Friday Post

I have missed my tribe... but Life, y'all! I am hoping to make it this week for sure! I'm even going to write it on my bossy day planner so I don't forget (theoretically!)

This is Five Minute Friday (- a five minute timed free write) and our One Word Prompt is: CRAVE

{GO}

Crave... If you hang around this little corner of the interwebs much at all, it will come as no real surprise to you that when I first saw the word prompt, I immediately thought of what my soul craves...

It seems, always, in this season --my soul craves wide open spaces and room to breathe!

Because, no matter where you are or what is on your bossy lists, who couldn't use a little more of that, right?

At this time of year, we could crave many things... and so much of the time what we think we want is MORE - in excess.

More time... more money... more freedom...

And yet - in all of our searching for more, it's actually when we are willing to make room for less that we find God throwing His doors wide open to us!

Instead of scrambling for more, when we open our hands and our hearts and we are willing to give instead of get... well, we end up getting even more!

Instead of feeling cramped up and closed in, we find our hair whipping in the wind and chains, loosed... walls crumbling down to reveal freedom that is ours. It has been all along!  (It's just that sometimes we forget!)

We forget that our God already knows what we need... and He promises that He is a good, good Father and that He will take care of us!  He tells us again and again that He is the only One who will satisfy this soul-craving for more...

We may think we want more money or more pie or more (fill in the blank) --but what we are most thirsty for is MORE LOVE... a Love that is unquenchable... and a taste of the Living Water and the Bread of Life

And no matter what you think you are craving, can I tell you? --What your soul needs is Him! You need more of HIM!

It's all Him and He can fill you up and set you free with one glance of love and one melody sung over you.

He longs to set your feet on solid ground... to lift you up on a high place... to remind you that you are seated, even now, in the heavenly realm with Jesus... He longs to place you in wide open spaces and give you room to breathe!

Let Him be what you crave this Christmas... prepare Him room and watch and see how He will take your 'little' and make it 'much!'

{STOP}

It's kind of His thing...
He loves to multiply...
  to cause increase...
    to shock and awe.

He's been doing it for eternity!

He is standing before you this Christmas,
offering a gift... your heart for His!
It's the best trade you will ever make

and all you have to do is say Yes!

Linking up with Kate Motaung and the #fmfparty Community today.  Five Minute Fridays gives us the chance to dive right in and share what He puts on our hearts! Click HERE to read what others have to say about: "CRAVE"
The FMF lowdown: The gathering happens on Twitter on Thursday nights & then we write our hearts out & hit publish all over the interwebs on Thursday & Friday (& sometimes on Tuesdays!) It's where we encourage & uplift... where we share prayer requests & praise reports... where we talk food & friends & we find support & kindred hearts. It's where we are reminded that life is good & God is good & we're not alone... & then we all write for five minutes flat, a flash mob of wordsmiths letting our hearts & our fingers do the talking tapping & we hit publish before we can second guess it all away. We'd love to have you join us!

  1. Karrilee, this ministered to me today! It seems lately I am in a constant state of craving, and I'm not sure what it is all about. You're right, we do forget that God knwos what we need, and maybe these times of craving are really times we press into Him more and wait to see what all this craving is about...wait for Him to fill. I just so needed this today my friend!
