We are Living in a Pinterest World... and I am a Pinterest Girl...

or, "Awaiting Small Wonders, celebrating new life, and loving on my people!"

Yeah... either one of those titles work!

I wrote the week before last about how I was in over my head with all things Baby Shower, both attending one and then planning to host another with my girlie for her BFF (Truly... they have been side by side since they were buckled in to carseats in the midst of home group meetings, road trips, restaurants, and such!)

But now, they are all grown up and one of them is expecting her first Little Man within the next month(ish)!

I mentioned last month about how I had placed self-imposed boundaries when it comes to party planning and Pinterest because, you know, sanity... (and budget!)

But still - I love me some Pinterest time... just scrolling and scrolling through menu ideas, decorating themes, ...Crafts and Gifts and Chalkboard signs, oh my! (You get the Pin picture!)

(We picked the whole Bow Tie theme... so adorable! Then we made it into a "Black Tie Event" so all the guests dressed up in Little Black Dresses and it was just over the top gorgeous!)

However... as much as I ADORE all the planning and prepping and making things pretty --as much as I love all the little details, it's the biggest detail that I pray into for days and weeks ahead of time.

As much as I want to create a first impression and a gorgeous table scape, even more so my prayer is for a warm and welcoming atmosphere!  My goal - for any party really, is that the guest of honor would feel loved on and cherished.

I hope she did... I hope she does, still!  For you know it was a great success if, days afterward, the glow of all the support and friendship lingers on! (Plus... you know... itty bitty baby clothes, sooo...) #swoon!

This girlie... she is going to be an amazing Little Mama... and we cannot wait to meet her new Little Man!

We hosted it at a great local coffeehouse downtown and we packed that room to full capacity and we played a few games, ate some yummy food, oohed and aahed as she opened gifts, and just hung out and relaxed. (Plus - of course... hashtagged it up over on instagram with a custom hashtag because - well, that's what you do now!)

Here is a peek at some of the celebrations...

  Sissys!

Can you even get over those Onesies?
I used my Cricut & Black Glitter Iron On Vinyl,
because... of course!

 We kept the menu simple:

 ...and Cake Pops!

Those little "HE" Hershey Bars were a Thank You gift
along with No Sew Bow Ties (that I made into hair clips!)

This was a fun activity that guests did through out the party!
They just took plain diapers from the "Clean" tin & wrote a message,
then put them in the "Dirty" Tin to collect for the new Mama
or Daddy when they have to change their new Little One!

These babies... again with the carseats and the church meetings
and the growing up together into these gorgeous All Grown up Girlies!

Lookie what I spy, Lisa-Jo! Surprised by Motherhood!
Every Baby Shower/New Mama needs this book, y'all!

My favorite part of the Shower was not erasing my fingerprints on those little bow ties, or the late night dates with my Cricut or Glue gun, but all the prayer...

The Prayer going into it, and over all who attended, and the laying hands on this Little Mama and Little Man and praying a blessing and speaking life... because, you know ...that's my jam and when the chocolate is (sadly) all gone and the banners are all taken down... when those teeny tiny clothes are all put away - or in a pile, waiting to be washed... it's the prayers that will continue on and on and on and on!

We love you Holly Dolly and cannot wait to shower your Little Man with love! (And bowties... always bowties!)

  3. Looks beautiful! I attended my daughter's baby shower on Saturday. Just 4 more weeks! The best part of showers I attend is when we pray and prophecy over mama and baby. Good job!

  5. You did an awesome job !!! It looks like everyone had so much fun. I loved the 'clean'/'dirty' diaper idea and may have to use it at the next shower I host. I can't wait to see that sweet baby that you all have already been loving on for months.

  6. Ahhhh! Love it. Love it. Love it. I am just jealous that I couldn't celebrate with you guys. You have to read what I posted today! Okay, fine you don't have to, but this kind of fits right in. There are two kinds of people it seems. Those that LOVE party planning, and those that see it as a chore. You and I are the same ;)

  7. Karrilee, wow....that looks like a lot o'..........work. I can tell by the smiles, tho', that people were blessed.
It is all about the people, not so much the place or the Pinterest, but God's presence, eh? Thanks for linking up at Small Wonder.

  10. These are wonderful and fun and attractive ideas! At the same time there is a simplicity which makes it look do-able for those of us who are not so Pinterest worthy.
Most of all though I LOVE that all was bathed in prayer and motivated by love and relationship!!
Thank you for sharing a sweet time and great ideas...

    1. Thanks Lisa! I think we can assume that all of Pinterest is MarthaStewart-y and unrealistic, but I try to find things that ARE, in fact, doable as you said! It's the little touches here and there that bring a room together... and prayer! Always with the prayers!

  14. I hope so... I think so... I think it is taking her a few days to recuperate! ;) Being loved on while you are growing a tiny human is hard work... it's great and glorious work - but it is tiring too! (You know... from what I remember anyway!) ;)

  19. Absolutely adorable! My sister-in-love is due very soon with my little nephew. We had their baby shower just a few weeks ago and I can't wait to love on this little heart that God has blessed us with. Like you, the most important part are the prayers for his life and that he would make a difference for the Lord.

You always bring me a smile when I visit here, where grace abounds, Karrilee!
    Blessings!
