Yeah... either one of those titles work!
I wrote the week before last about how I was in over my head with all things Baby Shower, both attending one and then planning to host another with my girlie for her BFF (Truly... they have been side by side since they were buckled in to carseats in the midst of home group meetings, road trips, restaurants, and such!)
But now, they are all grown up and one of them is expecting her first Little Man within the next month(ish)!
I mentioned last month about how I had placed self-imposed boundaries when it comes to party planning and Pinterest because, you know, sanity... (and budget!)
But still - I love me some Pinterest time... just scrolling and scrolling through menu ideas, decorating themes, ...Crafts and Gifts and Chalkboard signs, oh my! (You get the
(We picked the whole Bow Tie theme... so adorable! Then we made it into a "Black Tie Event" so all the guests dressed up in Little Black Dresses and it was just over the top gorgeous!)
However... as much as I ADORE all the planning and prepping and making things pretty --as much as I love all the little details, it's the biggest detail that I pray into for days and weeks ahead of time.
As much as I want to create a first impression and a gorgeous table scape, even more so my prayer is for a warm and welcoming atmosphere! My goal - for any party really, is that the guest of honor would feel loved on and cherished.
I hope she did... I hope she does, still! For you know it was a great success if, days afterward, the glow of all the support and friendship lingers on! (Plus... you know... itty bitty baby clothes, sooo...) #swoon!
This girlie... she is going to be an amazing Little Mama... and we cannot wait to meet her new Little Man!
We hosted it at a great local coffeehouse downtown and we packed that room to full capacity and we played a few games, ate some yummy food, oohed and aahed as she opened gifts, and just hung out and relaxed. (Plus - of course... hashtagged it up over on instagram with a custom hashtag because - well, that's what you do now!)
Here is a peek at some of the celebrations...
Sissys!
Can you even get over those Onesies?
I used my Cricut & Black Glitter Iron On Vinyl,
because... of course!
We kept the menu simple:
...and Cake Pops!
This was a fun activity that guests did through out the party!
They just took plain diapers from the "Clean" tin & wrote a message,
They just took plain diapers from the "Clean" tin & wrote a message,
then put them in the "Dirty" Tin to collect for the new Mama
or Daddy when they have to change their new Little One!
These babies... again with the carseats and the church meetings
and the growing up together into these gorgeous All Grown up Girlies!
Every Baby Shower/New Mama needs this book, y'all!
The Prayer going into it, and over all who attended, and the laying hands on this Little Mama and Little Man and praying a blessing and speaking life... because, you know ...that's my jam and when the chocolate is (sadly) all gone and the banners are all taken down... when those teeny tiny clothes are all put away - or in a pile, waiting to be washed... it's the prayers that will continue on and on and on and on!
We love you Holly Dolly and cannot wait to shower your Little Man with love! (And bowties... always bowties!)

Wow! It looks like you hosted a great party...totally Pinteret worthy. And ya know what...not only can I see the pretty desserts and the beautifully decorated room...I can see the LOVE. There is so much love in that room!
ReplyDeleteAmen and And How! There WAS so much love in that room! I am so glad that it translates in the photo's too! Thanks so much for stopping by Laura!
DeleteWhat a precious party, and so heartwarming and creative! Baby showers always are cherished times, she'll always remember your beautiful hospitality to welcome her sweet babe into the world! A joyful post!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kathy! It was a ton of fun and now we just wait for her little man to arrive!
DeleteLooks beautiful! I attended my daughter's baby shower on Saturday. Just 4 more weeks! The best part of showers I attend is when we pray and prophecy over mama and baby. Good job!
ReplyDeleteI thought of you and your girlie over the weekend! So glad her shower was a success as well! Yay for new babies and new mamas and loving on and supporting them in the transition into Mommyhood!
DeleteFun! I love putting on showers and celebrating beautiful babies!
ReplyDeleteStopping by today from Holly's linkup. Hope you have a great week (and don't spend it all on Pinterest!)
xo
Hey there my friend! LOL - I am quitting Pinterest! Well - you know, for a couple of weeks anyway! (Until the next thing comes up!) ;) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYou did an awesome job !!! It looks like everyone had so much fun. I loved the 'clean'/'dirty' diaper idea and may have to use it at the next shower I host. I can't wait to see that sweet baby that you all have already been loving on for months.
ReplyDeleteThank you, sweet friend! Yes - the diaper/message idea went over great! Some messages were funny and some were incouraging and sweet! We can't wait to see him either! #Swoon
DeleteAhhhh! Love it. Love it. Love it. I am just jealous that I couldn't celebrate with you guys. You have to read what I posted today! Okay, fine you don't have to, but this kind of fits right in. There are two kinds of people it seems. Those that LOVE party planning, and those that see it as a chore. You and I are the same ;)
ReplyDeleteKindred, indeed! (I read your post... great job!)
DeleteKarrilee, wow....that looks like a lot o'..........work. I can tell by the smiles, tho', that people were blessed.
ReplyDeleteIt is all about the people, not so much the place or the Pinterest, but God's presence, eh? Thanks for linking up at Small Wonder.
Amen... at the core - of everything we do - we should remember that we are carriers and releasers of His Presence, yes? Counting down to Faith and Culture! Can not wait!
DeleteI want you to plan a party for me!! So much love in these pictures friend! That little guy is so lucky to be surrounded by such a wonderful cloud of witnesses.
ReplyDeleteLOL! How fun would that be? Again - I am so glad that the love translates into the photo's... as a photographer, that is always my goal!
DeleteKarrilee, I love all your great ideas for the shower and all your wonderful Pinterest boards...but I especially liked your quote at the end about the prayers, the laying on of hands on the Little Mama and the Little Man...it's the prayers that will continue on, amen ❤️ I so appreciated your comments on my "a calm assurance" post today...many blessings to you and your sweet family and friends!
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and yours! It really is the prayers that just keep on going!
DeleteThese are wonderful and fun and attractive ideas! At the same time there is a simplicity which makes it look do-able for those of us who are not so Pinterest worthy.
ReplyDeleteMost of all though I LOVE that all was bathed in prayer and motivated by love and relationship!!
Thank you for sharing a sweet time and great ideas...
Thanks Lisa! I think we can assume that all of Pinterest is MarthaStewart-y and unrealistic, but I try to find things that ARE, in fact, doable as you said! It's the little touches here and there that bring a room together... and prayer! Always with the prayers!
DeleteJust one word . . . adorable!
ReplyDeleteJust one word... Thank You! (Oh wait....) ;)
DeleteThese are such beautiful pictures of a sweet party in honor of a soon to be Mama and her little man. Oh, and the onesies are too cute! I knew I was in for a treat when I saw that I was your neighbor at the #smallwonder link-up. Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
ReplyDeleteThanks for spotting the adorableness of those onesies... I can't even explain how cute they are - and tiny... and glittery black... (My Honey suggested I make more to sell on Etsy!)
DeleteNicely done, Karrilee! Definitely Pinterest worthy and I wholeheartedly agree with Laura - love was certainly in attendance at this party! Here's a link to my "baby" board, lol! https://www.pinterest.com/junescott/inspired-by-baby/
ReplyDeleteOooooh - I LOVE that you included a link to your baby board!!! Thank you! (And just when I vowed to stay away for at least a few weeks... ) ;) SUPER CUTE ideas on there!
DeleteI hope so... I think so... I think it is taking her a few days to recuperate! ;) Being loved on while you are growing a tiny human is hard work... it's great and glorious work - but it is tiring too! (You know... from what I remember anyway!) ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful celebration of life and love. I love the pictures and sharing a slice of a special time for you! Pinterest is the bomb when it comes to all things party, for sure, for sure. But more that the decorations is the celebration of sweet friends.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, my friend! You are so right --it really IS the celebration of sweet friends!
DeleteWhat an awesome baby shower! We are smack in the middle of wedding planning for our youngest daughter here. Fun and taxing all at once!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Elizabeth! Praying for you... wedding planning is the worst (and the best!) ;) I think it is hardest because it's when we feel that budget the most! LOL! Thanks for stopping by! Praying for your girlie and her special day!
DeleteWhat a glorious party! I haven't yet given into the temptation to join Pinterest but I'm sure I will one day soon. Everything looks so lovely and I'm sure the mother and guests were truly blessed!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your lovely comment on Saved by Grace! May you have a blessed weekend in Him,
Laurie
Thanks so much! It was so fun and we LOVED the idea of taking the "Bow Tie" theme and turning it into a "Black Tie Event"! What 19 or 20 year old girl doesn't like to get a little dressed up? (Well - some... but not these girlies - they loved it!) Thanks so much for stopping by!
DeleteKarrilee, I am impressed. Beautiful pics. You did great. The only problem is - I wish I could have been there. HA! Cheering you from the #RaRaLinkup on Purposeful Faith.
ReplyDeleteOh girl - I am pretty sure you can ROCK a LBD and you would have fit right in! That would have been so fun!
DeleteAbsolutely adorable! My sister-in-love is due very soon with my little nephew. We had their baby shower just a few weeks ago and I can't wait to love on this little heart that God has blessed us with. Like you, the most important part are the prayers for his life and that he would make a difference for the Lord.
ReplyDeleteYou always bring me a smile when I visit here, where grace abounds, Karrilee!
Blessings!
Dawn
Aren't babies just so much fun! (especially - maybe - when they are not yours... LOL... I mean - you know, because that way we can love them and cuddle them and help take care of them but we can always give them back!) ;) Amen friend... you are welcome here anytime my friend!
