DAY FIVE of 31 Days of Becoming Queen... SHARE: a Five Minute Friday post.

***
This is a Five Minute Friday post, which simply means I set a timer and free write for five minutes flat on the one word prompt of SHARE.

{GO}

So far this week, we have talked about how this series came to be (read: reluctantly!),  Being Kind, Believing the Best, and Focusing on the Positives...

All of these things are powerful in and of themselves but put them together and we are well on our way to Becoming Queens of Giving the Benefit of the Doubt!

These Five Minute Friday posts are always fun because I never know how (or if, really!) the One Word Prompt will fit with the series topic!

But I see "Share" and immediately I see Community!

As I have mentioned here over the last several months, we are in this really strange season of Being In Between. We are in between jobs - literally, with zero employment right now - and we are in between churches or community.

We have been very quiet... small... still.

We feel a bit like we are floating, and yet we are tethered to each other and we are tethered to Him and His Peace is saturating our everyday life with so much grace that if we have even a small temptation to rush on to the next thing... (or ---to 'make' the next thing happen!) we quickly let go again!

It's like a free falling and while it is very much just us two, we know so many others share in a similar season!

God graciously gathers community around us and knits our hearts together so even while we feel set apart, we have kindred hearts with whom we can share what it is (whatever it is!) that He is teaching us in and through this time.

We are made for community...
made for connection!

We hunger for it...

Listen, sweet readers...
  We need each other!

Loneliness isolates and opens wide the door to the enemy to whisper-shout lies that feel true!

It doesn't matter if you have been hurt by a friend, by church, by circumstances or politics, by co-workers, or family... (read: of COURSE it matters... but that is all of us, at one time or another -or seventy times seven!- that doesn't give us the right to shut people out or cut them off.)*

When we withhold giving the benefit of the doubt and being willing to listen (and hear!), we withhold forgiveness and an opportunity to learn!

In the end, we may not change our minds... or their mind... but if we have been willing to be kind, to believe the best, to focus on the positive, to ask questions and actually hear their responses, to try to understand where they are coming from or why they did or said what they did... we all have the chance to grow!

We are called to be part of a Family that is eternal... to share in the Kingdom together, forever!  We need to learn to get along!

Is this world a hot mess? Yeah... Heaven on Earth is not fully here yet. But we are called to release and pull it down and become Heaven on earth to those around us!

{STOP}

This is where my five minutes were up --and it is also where I wanted to insert that I am NOT saying to ignore or not put into place Healthy Boundaries... I am NOT saying to be a doormat or to continue to put yourself at risk... I'm not talking about abusive situations.

I AM talking about NOT cutting people off or shutting them out simply because they believe differently than you do... or vote differently... or live differently.

I was talking with a sweet friend this afternoon... a long overdue date to simply curl up on my couch and chat for hours about all the things. It was so wonderful partly because we are kindred and we agree on most things... but partly because the things we disagree on are still talked about, with Honor and Respect!
(Hey, do you remember those guys? I miss them so!)

This is the fruit of
Becoming Queens of Giving
the Benefit of the Doubt:
We can love each other
and learn from each other!
We can create Safe Space to talk
and ask questions and
share from our hearts...
We feel Heard and Held,
and who among us
doesn't want that?

On the weekends, we take it easier...
Come back tomorrow for a super short visual post that is meant to help breathe a bit of Sabbath into your Saturday, and then on Sunday --we will gather here and pray!

Today is Day Five of  31 Days of Becoming Queen of Giving the Benefit of the Doubt! If you click over to the official 'Homepage' for this series HERE, you can catch up! You will find links for each days' postings, added daily throughout the month. That way, once a week, each post is delivered to your inbox in a single email over the weekend and you'll be sure not to miss a thing!

Linking up with Kate Motaung and the #fmfparty Community today.  Five Minute Fridays give us the chance to dive right in and share what He puts on our hearts! Click HERE to read what others have to say about "SHARE"
The FMF lowdown: The gathering happens on Twitter on Thursday nights & then we write our hearts out & hit publish all over the interwebs on Thursday & Friday (& sometimes on Tuesdays!) It's where we encourage & uplift... where we share prayer requests & praise reports... where we talk food & friends & we find support & kindred hearts. It's where we are reminded that life is good & God is good & we're not alone... & then we all write for five minutes flat, a flash mob of wordsmiths letting our hearts & our fingers do the talking tapping & we hit publish before we can second-guess it all away. We'd love to have you join us!

  3. the thought that came to my mind after reading this is "the only way we can be a community and support one another is through an open mind (and heart). I don't know if that is accurate or not. But, thank you for this.

    Your FMF neighbor.
