The Official Wrap Up Post for 31 Days of Life Happens... and so We Pray!

So... well, uh... Life has Happened, right?

I mean, since we were sitting here together each day in October a lot of Life has Happened!

I hope you have been able to tap into a bit of Rest and Sabbath (despite the chaos going on all around us --and maybe even within us!) I pray even more than that, that you have been able to press in and turn to Prayer whenever and however Life has Happened for you!

I don't know about you, but me?  Well I needed a little break!

But, as always, I promised a Wrap Up Post... so let's dive right in, shall we?

Listen, writing every day of the month is no joke, y'all!

Which is pretty much why every year, I think I am not going to do it! And every year, God has other plans! He gets bossy with me and gives me very specific things to write.

This year, He gave me a picture on the entire month mapped out with titles. Every day was accounted for and He is so smart that He even organized it into categories regarding prayer and what we were to learn about in October: Your relationship with God; Family (Marriage/Parenting); Healing; and the Church.

During our First Week, we dove in to our personal relationship with the Lord... we answered questions like, "What is prayer?" and "How do you pray?"

In Week Two we dug in to our family relationships. We talked about the importance of praying for our Marriage as well as the necessity of praying through the seasons of Parenting Littles and Parenting Teens!

Week Three dealt with Healing -and oh how we all need it! We talked about how Life Happens and we need healing PhysicallyEmotionally, even Nationally (hello?)!

Our Final Week together was dedicated to how Life Happens in the Church... and how we need to pray!  We prayed for our Leaders and Pastors, we talked about how Life is supposed to Happen INSIDE and OUTSIDE of the Church... and of course - even before the election happened --we talked about the importance of Unity!

Interspersed through out the month were posts Praying through a Psalm or leading in Listening Prayer... those are among some of my favorites because we didn't just talk about prayer - but we actually prayed! In several posts I also included a Recommended Reading List related to the topic (because, of course! And, you're welcome!)

My prayer for you, sweet reader, as you traveled through this series with me, was that God would meet you in the words and the truth and would stir up the call to turn to prayer.

My hope is that as life happens all around you, your knee-jerk reaction to pray would become second nature and immediate in how you align your lips and your heart... that you would begin praying before would you do or say anything else when life comes at you hard!

If you are interested in reading through this series from start to finish, or simply reading it again, slower... you can find the landing page for the entire series HERE.

If you read along and learned something new about prayer, or found yourself leaning in to prayer more than before, I'd love to hear about that, too!

Now we will get back to our regularly scheduled* program. (Well... posts not program.)

And *: Y'all know I don't schedule things like a grown up blogger, right? We just meet up here whenever I feel the Lord has something to say! Until then, let's remember to:
Speak Life... Be Love... Shine On... (and to Pray!)

  1. You have outdone yourself, Karrilee. All is beautiful in His sight. Your words have drawn me in and given me tools and love and hope in the midst of distractions. Photos and God's Word guide me. Prayer dissolves the chaos around and helps me to cling to God's Truth. Thank you, ~ linda

    1. Wow! Well if I did all of that, I know without a doubt it was not me, but Him! ;) Thanks so much for joining me on this journey of prayer! Bless you, friend!

  2. I look forward to going back and reading through your series on resting in the Lord. I went on a retreat this summer, and the clear invitation from God was to rest. I am not always very good at knowing how to rest in the midst of busy family life, but I am slowly learning. God bless!

    1. Ah yes... the call to enter in to His Rest! I know it well... I wish I heeded to it more often, but I am learning (and relearning!) So glad you stopped by, Sarah! Praying REST unfolds and unfurls all around you!

  3. Such a great wrap up post friend!

  4. My comment should have been here. You wrapped it up well and now you can breathe and move to the next Thanksgiving!

    1. On to the next thing... hmmm... do I have to? ;) Love you, friend! Thanks for joing me on this journey!

  5. Awesome wrap up to an awesome month! Ummm ... I'm still in awe of all you 31 day-ers! Wow, wow, wow! So glad you took some time to rest! Thanks so much for being such a beautiful blessing ♥

    1. Thank you so much, my friend!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I always love to hear your thoughts! Remember to: Speak Life - Be Love - Shine On!
