When You Are Lacking Time, but Abundant on Small Wonders...

...you kick it old school with a post reminiscent of #1000gifts!

Yeah. That.

October is arriving in just a few days and my day planner is packed, y'all... and yet - this weekend, I found small wonders or gifts, if you will, all over the place! So instead of completely not posting today due to lack of time and the ability to do the words-putting-together-in-sentences-part very well, I decided to try one of those Count-Your-Blessings, Ann-Voskamp-inspired-#1000Gifts, Listy kind of posts!

So... here we go:
I count on... listing gifts, -blessings... one after another...

#2453 - Remembering that I love to paint... and working on several pieces to be auctioned off to raise funds for a friend going on a World Race Mission!

#2454 - Family walks... as the season changes to Fall! #Swoon!

#2455 - Trying new recipes that are easy AND delicious!

#2456 - Some seriously amazing books... (because, of course!)

#2457 - Starbucks and All the Pumpkiny things!

#2458 - Foodie Friends who are really like Chefs and who like to share, Praise God and Hallelujah!

#2459 - ...Getting back to the streets and the gym! (See above 'gifts'!)

#2460 - Fun Hair color that washes out... so, I don't have to pick!

#2461 - Decorating for Autumn... my favorite!

#2462 - Meeting Bloggy Friends in real life... so fun!
I {heart} you, Anita!

#2463 - Visiting with family who just so happen to be among your very best friends... talking, laughing, singing... so many Wonders!

#2464 - This:
...for real! First of all - a gift because the car was parked, and we were not in it or anywhere near it.  Secondly, because the guy who backed into it didn't just take off.  He didn't know whose car it was but instead of just leaving a note - he called the police and filled out a report. Thirdly, it was still drivable! The drivers' side door didn't open, but the tire was still good and nothing was rubbing so we were able to drive it home (from out of town!) and now we wait on the Insurance. Still - it is just stuff and we are all good and so very thankful!

#2465 - Also... this:
I didn't want to write this year. Sigh.  But God is bossy and I trust I will learn a lot as I write this out! I am thankful that He is giving me clear vision and - you know - things to say! #Write31Days starts on October 1st and runs through the entire month. Look for a post on Wednesday with a bit more information and then we will kick this thing off on Thursday morning! I hope you will join me for the ride!

#2466 - Dad's House... you guys!  We are just starting our sixth month as a church and oh my goodness... it's still fun! It's still something we want to do... we get to do... and God (and people) just keep on showing up! Honestly - this is the most amount of Sundays that we have gone to church in a row in a long, long, LONG time, y'all!

So Fall is here, and October is nearly among us... and I am writing real words for the 31days series entitled "31 Days of Truths We Know...it's just that Sometimes We Forget!"

Sometimes, in order for us NOT to forget, we must look for Small Wonders!

Jesus was right... if we seek, we will find!

P.S.  I'm linking up with these lovely writers:

What Small Wonders are you finding in your corner of the world today? I'd love to hear!

  1. HI Karrilee,
I am following you from Playdates. I used to do the Joy Dare and the #1000 gifts too. Great idea. You are most welcome to join Sunday Stillness if you want to.
    Blessings

  2. Aw, I love this! Sitting here with my oj and my kleenex, I needed to be reminded to look for the small wonders. I may be hacking up a lung, but at least I have a warm blanket and snuggly doggies!

P.S. - LOVE the painting with the curly-haired gal!

  3. If we seek, we will find! Ummmm YES!!! I absolutely love the third painting: the woman sitting on the globe looking up towards the heavens. So excited you got to meet Anita. Meeting blog friends InRL is such a gift and one of the many treasures of this place we call the World Wide Web. I haven't been the greatest about working out either. Finally seem to be getting into a routine. Oh and the guy who called the police restores my faith in humanity. There are still Good Samaritans in the world, aren't there!?!? I am sorry God is so bossy, but I am so glad that God bossed you into a 31 days series. I am excited to read it, because sometimes I forget too! (Check out my reply to your comment on my FMF post this week!) Love you friend!

    1. LOL - Well God being bossy... He just so nice about it that normally it doesn't feel bossy and really - I could not of course, because - freewill. But even with all my dragging my feet - we all know He will win out in the end because He has my heart and I trust Him... (say it with me now... "it's just that sometimes I forget!) ;)

  4. Um...so now I'm hungry!! You had me at pumpkiny and the picture of that scone, which I may just have to stop and eat on the way to the grocery store this morning. ;) I love that you are encouraging us to remember, because I know that I too often forget how exceedingly good God is and how worthy He is of my trust. Looking forward to your series, friend. And your artwork - beautiful!!

  8. Karrilee, I love this post! So many reminders to me of things in my life I'm thankful for. Love the paintings too...especially the angel. I love to paint & haven't done it in a while, so you're encouraging me to pull everything out. Thanks!

    1. Thanks Kelly! You will love the fun colors! They wash out so it's only a one day commitment! ;) However - if it may be rainy - well... stay inside... they wash out, you see... so...! They are made by Splot and they're called Washables. They have some that are all over color (that wash out too, I believe!) and then the ones I use come with a little mascara wand so you can just add highlights! Super fun!
