Who Can Know What Tomorrow Holds... A Five Minute Friday post

I managed to pop in to the Twitter party for a little bit last night and oh my goodness, how I missed y'all last week!  I had a house full of company so I didn't get to visit much, and I am just now sitting down to write on Friday afternoon... but there is a reason for that! More than company, it was waiting on His timing because today - MUCH sooner than I had planned, --today, I will tell you about our Tomorrow!

{I can't say it enough, really - I love my tribe! The Gathering that happens on Twitter on Thursday nights and then flashmob writes out their hearts and hits publish all over the interwebs on Thursday and Friday (and sometimes on Tuesdays!) But, I know... I'm like a broken record here, stuck on repeat!
However today I am thinking of a different community. Let's just get started.}

This is Five Minute Friday and our Word Prompt for the day is: TOMORROW

{GO}

Who can know what tomorrow holds?  Oh but we want too, right?  We want to know all of the details and plans before we fully give in. Or maybe that is just me?

So, you guys know how God is bossy with me sometimes and how usually I know that that is for the best, but every so often I forget and I try to argue with Him?

Yeah. That.

That. BIG TIME!

And you know how He has been asking me to take more risks, to give up self doubt and hesitation, and to get rid of my cushy over sized comfort zone?

Yeah.  That, too!

For years, we have been searching for a home.  We are a Kingdom people, sojourners more than wanderers... forerunners maybe more than settlers.

We didn't want to believe that we were just being picky... but in all honestly, probably some times we were.

We didn't want to settle for less than what our souls were thirsting for, but we had a long parched season, sipping on things that were good, close even... but somehow still not hydrating us in the ways our souls cried out for.

No... this thirst, this desire, this passion
--this Love,
    --it will not be quenched!

We joked for years of just doing it ourselves.
But that seemed hard.
And the timing was off.

And we are fully aware that even now that the timing is right and we are leaping off this cliff, free falling into where He is leading - it will still be hard.

But it will be His.

Whatever it is that we are building...
    it is His, and for Him, and with Him.

So, out of the blue, an offer and a dream was placed before us and we headed for the hills for a bit of quiet and climbing and searching for vision...

Because we knew that we needed a bit of this:

 ...before we were ready to jump off that cliff and follow His lead into this:

{STOP}

I know, right? Are y'all as surprised as I am?

We so appreciate your prayers as we follow God in this new and unexpected (to us!) direction of planting a church. It's scary and exciting and I promise you that there is no comfort zone and a lot of risk... but God has surrounded us with a team of Lovers of His Presence and we are building on that - so what's not to love about that, right?

You can learn more about what God is unfolding by visiting our new church website (what?) HERE!

I love the #fmfparty Community that gathers on Twitter and all across the Internet on Thursday nights and on Fridays... on into the next week, where we encourage and uplift... where we share prayer requests and praise reports... where we talk food and friends and we find support and kindred hearts and we are reminded that life is good and God is good and we are not alone... and then we all write for five minutes flat, a flash mob of wordsmiths letting our hearts and our fingers do the talking tapping and we hit publish before we can second guess... we just let Him flow!   Five Minute Fridays gives us the chance to dive right in and share what He puts on our hearts! Click here to read what others have to say about "TOMORROW"

Oh ...the fine print: if you don't know what FMF is!  Five Minute Fridays have been hosted by Lisa Jo Baker.  This week we start gathering over at Kate Motaung's.  FMF is open to anyone, so to learn more about it - and to jump in yourself (the more the merrier!) or just to find a linky to see what everyone is writing about today - click HERE!  The idea is to simply write... for Five Minutes flat... no editing, no deep thinking - or at least REthinking, no spell check - just write! Let it flow! We all write using a prompt that Lisa posts at 10pm Thursday night (EST.)  I'm loving the community of amazing bloggers and the creativity that flows from these magical Five Minutes!

The website looks good; easy to navigate. And by the way, I adore you too!! Prayers abounding for this new church.

    1. Oh Laura.... I will remember this and will probably have plenty of questions for you! Luckily, the couple who is leading the way with us has done this before as well... so they have a bit of experience and an idea of how things may unfold, but just knowing that we know people who have done it - and who know the fun and the hard and the joy and the heartbreak... --well, it helps just knowing that we are not alone! Thanks for the prayers! Right now - that is just the best gift!

    1. Amen! And He is so in it... how you may have felt about hosting a small group? Yeah. That. But we know that we know that this is Him --so it makes it easier and it shifts the scary parts into excitement to watch and see what He will do! SO appreciate the prayers! xoxo

  7. What exciting news !!! I can't wait to see how he continues to use you (cause He has already been working through you). He has prepared you, developed you and called you and this plant team together for this one purpose at this time. Praying for you and your husband, for the leadership team, and for the people who will come to know and grow a closer relationship with God through this ministry.
