When You Seek, You Will Find... (A Small Wonders Post)

Here we are... Monday is unfolding once again and I don't know about you, but this week is FULL, y'all!

Full of great things and somewhat bossy lists and all kinds of errands and deadlines and pushing me out (yet again) of my comfort zone - and into new time zones, actually... and yet I have made it a priority this year to search my heart, to look for (signs and) Wonders... to purpose to seek and find, and oh my goodness - there are just so many signs and wonders, and so much Goodness to be found!

Like this:

I wrote a poem last Monday here... because more concrete, complete words were not coming to me. I had forgotten how powerful true words can flow when they are not pressed into form. Aaah... rediscovering the love of poetry! #SmallWonders for sure!

And this:

As we venture into starting a new church, this is the cry of our hearts... this is what we desire: to let this statement by Tony Kriz be true of us as well!

...That our prayers would be the language of our faith, and the people will come.  Honestly, y'all - it's a #SmallWonder that we are starting a church at all... then all the little details and ways God is confirming it are off the charts Wonders and here we are -two weeks out, and ready to free fall into whatever it is He has planned!

Or maybe a little bit of this:
Our Girlie used to refer to dandelion flowers as "Wish Flowers" and oh my goodness, YES!!!

Or maybe these #SmallWonders:
Finding a little peace and quiet in the midst of all the noise! Setting up for a Book Reading for a friend as My Honey was playing background music in the Mall. This scene just gives you room to breathe, right?

Hello Sunday morning! Surrounded by my favorite things (and kitty!)

You guys!!!  If you haven't heard of #fmfpartysnailmail - well, this is what you are missing out on: Personal prayers and encouragement from friends and strangers alike, delivered to your actual mailbox (you know, old school!) on a weekly basis! It is such a blessing! We are at the beginning of Round 6 but hopefully there will be a Round 7 and sign up's will open then!

Yeah... and then there was this:

Testing out our new facilities for Dad's House... How much do you love the idea of doing 'church' in a theater in the round? I mean - how many times have we talked about how God doesn't like to be kept in a box... Square vs. Round... Church vs. Family... the same, but so very different, y'all!

But - really... when we talk about #SmallWonders... what fits more perfectly than a gorgeous newborn? How adorable is he?
Our Girlie (only not technically! Technically she is our Girlies' bff, whom we have loved since she was almost as little as this little guy - so we totally claim her as ours!)
...she had her Little Man yesterday and oh my gah... we love him so much already! #SmallWonder indeed!

So, seek and you shall find...
Taste and see that the Lord is good...

How are you finding and tasting and seeing that God is good this week? What are the #SmallWonders that are surrounding you? I'd love to hear!

  1. Isn't it amazing how full the weeks can get some times? It is in those moments that I especially want to find those moments of small wonders too. Poetry, my friend, is one of my God-given gifts; one of the ways I share my heart and prayers but it has been a while since I have written anything. Thanks for the reminder to take the time to write more. I have a whole binder of my poetry that I keep in my house. Oh and that sweet newborn. Babies are my absolute FAVE! I adore holding babies...just ask anyone who knows me! :) And snailmail...yep love that too. It would be fun if we ended up on a list sometime together. But if not, I might just have to get your address so I can send you some real mail! Love ya friend!!!

    1. I love that you write Poetry, friend! Pull it out... write something new... share something old... God is doing something through poetry - but then again, He always has! xoxo (And I was thinking the same thing... list or no list... once I get back, we will trade addresses and send some old school love!)

    1. Thanks Holly! It was a full week - but a great one! (And this week is Jumping Tandem! #Squee!) I am sure that as much as I don't want this blog to become all about the new church - it will show up from time to time because - well, that is what I am doing now! Thank you so much for your prayers!

  12. Karrilee- This discipline of looking for small wonders is so very powerful. It leads to a grateful, observant, and sensitive heart--- the very kind God prefers to work with the most! I love how your heart is revealed through your words. And wish flowers? YES! And poetry? Fist Pump! Thanks for the encouraging, positive message here. I'm always glad I stopped by! :)

    1. Wish Flowers... I know, right? I mean - sure... we can loathe them later when they pop up in unwanted places and are so hard to get rid of... but in this form - when the little seeds are ready to scatter... well - Dreams and Wishes carried on wind... that is the stuff of magic! (And #FistPumpforPoetry... I like it!) It's always a pleasure to have you here, friend!

  13. Today was a beautiful, warm, sunny Spring day. And I am finding joy in the many wonders of God's creation. It's a good practice to look for small wonders - for we are surrounded by them all the time. We just need to open our *eyes* and see!

    GOD BLESS!
