Release - Five Minute Friday

So the mini (?) Blog Breaky continues... but here I am! Prepping for the weekend, fighting a little headache, and still finding myself over on Twitter because, #gah... I love this Community! #fmfparty is AMAZING, ya'll! (Seriously... you should join us!)

So - here goes: Five Minute Friday - The Word Prompt is: RELEASE

{GO}

Release! Really?  Is that supposed to be funny because honestly, this little breaky is (so far) leaving me exhausted from all the releasing and yet, I have found none. Release, that is.

I feel cloudy and a little stormy underneath... all this pressure on my heart and on my head and behind my eyes as I battle another headache and I am tired... but I am determined to release.

Release the self-imposed pressure to blog all the things, all the time, or at least for all 3-5 of the days... take a step back! Sure, I can write about whatever out of habit... or, I can write what He puts on my heart out of intimacy! I don't know about you but I love the second way best! Some days, I miss it... you know, because of all the Bossy. So I am releasing my own schedule and listening for what He may want to say here, in this space that is really space I desire to always ALWAYS share with Him and you!

Release the emotions of raising a Little One into a Not So Little, then a Nearly Grown Girlie, and now an All Moved Out... and it was glorious and wonder-filled, it was wretched and hard, but always it was-- it IS-- an honor to be Home... to be Mom... to be hers.

And I hear Him calling me, humming a new verse to my Song ever so softly and it is Him who has called me to release the Bossy schedule and come away. To not rush into another Busy just to push past All. The. Feels. - but instead to lean in, to slow down, to pay attention to each one of them... be fully present in the joys and the sorrows of it all and then Release it - to give the emotions, the successes and failures... to give HER right back to Him.

Release the expectations - mostly of myself, that I put on myself.  Earlier this year I gave up Self-Doubt for Lent... I find that I have to release that Love Idol over and over but I am doing it sooner and sooner and this is progress.

This wide open Next Season is filled to overflowing with the unknown and I have been on a journey to lean in... to look at risk as an adventure and to want to jump off the edge, even if I can't see what lies beyond it.  And I am so thankful that My Honey is right beside me, ready to jump as well.  We are releasing all that holds us back... all that holds us down... and we are ready to fly!

{STOP}

So... the headache part is true which means this is an early night for me and my unplugged self! I normally LOVE to read ya'll who link up over at Lisa-Jo's and leave you all kinds of love... please know that your words bless, and I am praying for you even if I am unable to stop by this week to say it in your comment sections!

Five Minute Fridays gives us the chance to dive right in and share what He puts on our hearts! Click here to read what others have to say about "RELEASE"

Oh - the fine print: if you don't know what FMF is!  Five Minute Fridays are hosted by Lisa Jo Baker.  It is open to anyone, so to learn more about it - and to jump in yourself (the more the merrier!) or just to find a linky to see what everyone is writing about today - click HERE!  The idea is to simply write... for Five Minutes flat... no editing, no deep thinking - or at least REthinking, no spell check - just write! Let it flow! We all write using a prompt that Lisa posts at 10pm Thursday night (EST.)  I'm loving the community of amazing bloggers and the creativity that flows from these magical Five Minutes!

  2. Thanks for putting the blogging obsession on the table. We all need to step back from the keyboard more often. Close the whole thing down. And go live our lives.

    Thought-provoking!

    Praying for total release for you from the hectic schedule, the headache, the desire to write "all the time" and instead God to fill you with the rest and total fullness of His goodness. Blessings, my friend!

  4. "Sure, I can write about whatever out of habit... or, I can write what He puts on my heart out of intimacy!”..this is a struggle for me, as well, Karrilee, but it’s getting easier. I’m proud of you and all of your progress releasing…life is a process, anyway. And one day it will be finished. Glory! Praying your headache goes away and you finish your week in peace…xoxo, Meredith

    I love this! Yes, it IS wretched in a way to watch our "babies" fly the nest, but that is just what God designed them to do. I cannot wait to follow along as you find your way in this next season of life, Karrilee.
